Arwen's intake photos from her 'then' owner. She was pulled off the Copiah County kill buyers truck, I was told, thus saving her from slaughter. I answered an add for a $200 rescue horse, thinking I could bring her home for the grand kids. She looked so pitiful, my heart broke, and I just kinda jumped in. I had not owned a horse in over 27 years when I bought her, and I was not set up for one, The sale was made after making arrangements for her to stay where she was, and I paid for her upkeep, feed, and vet bills, until I had a place for her made ready.
Arwen was the first in what eventually turned out to be many equine rescues taken into the sanctuary. Arwen is an Arabian, and the smartest horse on the sanctuary, as well as the smallest (not counting the miniatures). She has been with me since 2014, and is the only domestic here.
As I am writing this, it is now 2022, and Lady Arwen will be turning 16 years old this year.
